Mary Lou Henson


Mary Lou Henson, age 74, of Washington, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, at the Washington Nursing Center.  She was born in Washington April 1, 1939.  She is survived by her foster father, Howard Wainman of Washington.  She was preceded in death by her foster mother, Catherine Wainman, one sister, Lois Henson, and a brother, John Henson.  Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. Kenneth Wells officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Daniel E. Foster


Daniel E. Foster, age 65, of Washigton, died Thursday afternoon at his residence.

He was born December 3, 1947 in Montgomery, the son of Virgil and Mary (Yates) Foster. He graduated from Alfordsville High School in 1965.

He worked for Hoover Superior Ball for several years also for Jasper Engines and was a jailer at the Daviess County Security Center for a short time. He retired from Maysville Enterprises in 2009. He loved fishing and stock car racing.  He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Holz) Foster, whom he married on July 5, 1969; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa S. and Dave Hooten of Washington; a brother, Frank Foster of Loogootee; and three grandchildren, Adam Hooten, Matt Hooten and Lily Hooten, all of Washington.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Gail (Edwards) Foster, whom he married in February 1965.  She died Oct. 21, 1968.  He is also preceded in death by a son, Danny Lee Foster; a daughter, Rebecca Anne Foster; his parents; a sister, Annavieve Foster; and a brother, Duane Foster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Rev. Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will be in East Union Cemetery.  Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary.

Mary Fay Willis



 Mary Fay Willis, age 85, of Washington, died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Manor. Born July 24, 1927, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Farris and Chrystal (Lamb) Wise. A 1945 graduate of Wheatland High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree in library science from Oakland City University in 1972. She was a nurse for a short period and worked at the Washington Carnegie Public Library for 39 years, working her way up from clerk to director. She was a member of Trinity Gospel Tabernacle, Browning Club and Monday Afternoon Club. She is survived by her husband, Morris E. Willis, whom she married Nov. 2, 1947; two daughters, Sharon Wright of Overland Park, Kan., and Carla Willis of Spencer; two sons, Danny Willis and wife Eva of Scotland, Ind., and David Willis and wife Karen of Washington; grandchildren, Randall Willis, Cari Jenkins, Katrina Miley, Darric Wright, Purdey Egnew, Glen Willis and Tamara Gingerich; stepgrandchildren, Carrie Dillon and Rosalie Manus; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jane Dick and husband Bill of Lisbon, N.D.; and a brother, James Wise and wife Paula of Freelandville. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randy Willis; and a sister, Marie Lockhart. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Trinity Gospel Tabernacle, with Revs. Chad Hunting, Mark Lemmon and Aron Willis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Gill Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Preferred memorials are to Trinity Gospel Tabernacle. Paisley Ann Morgan


Paisley Ann Morgan, two weeks old, of Washington, passed away at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Born April 30, 2013, in Newburgh, she was the daughter of Ryan and Brittany (Babrick) Morgan. She is survived by her parents; her twin sister, Kalli Margaret Morgan; her grandparents, Linda and Alan Babrick and Ron and Mary Morgan, all of Washington; her great-grandmother, Eva Mae Babrick of Washington; her aunts and uncles, Matt and Kyle Babrick, Kisa and Clint Babrick and Casey Morgan. She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Don and Betty Craney, Ralph and Betty Morgan, Glen “Hoop” and Marjorie Edmiston and Bill Babrick. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with Rev. Gordon Mann officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Mildred "Millie" (Mahan) Beck


Mildred “Millie” (Mahan) Beck, age 87, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 5:29 p.m. Wednesday with her family by her side at the Daviess Community Hospital. Born May 21, 1925, in Harlan, Ky., she was the daughter of William Frank and Bess (Bryant) Mahan. Mildred moved to Washington in 1946 and worked at Uniroyal for 33 years, retiring in 1978. She was a graduate of Spurgeon High School and married Arthur Beck on July 11, 1981. She was a life member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary, joining in 1951. She was also a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. auxiliaries. She is survived by her husband; four stepchildren, Barry Beck of Florida, Anthony Beck of Indianapolis, Suzanne Shipley of Beech Grove, and Dawn Beck of Indianapolis; seven stepgrandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with Yvonne Evans officiating. Visitation is from noon to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Frank Price


 Frank Price, 77, of Washington, died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at Hillside Manor. Born June 29, 1935, in Loogootee, he was the son of Agatha (Spaulding) and Francis Price Sr. He attended St. John’s Catholic School in Loogoote and served as an Army Airborne Ranger in the Korean War. He worked in gypsum before working at Crane Naval Base for 34 years as an engineer. He was a member of Montgomery Christian Church. He was a previous member of Masonic Lodge Eastern Star Chapter 210. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Elmore) Price, whom he married Sept. 15, 1956; children Mandy Price, Michael D. (Pam) Price and Tiffany S. Powers; granddaughter, Nikki Miller; great-grandchildren, Brianne Powers, Bryce Powers and Braxton Miller; two sisters, Rosemary Emily and Rheta (Clifford) Lannan. He is preceded in death by siblings, Bobby Jo Price, Rosetta Price and Edward Melton. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Gill Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Frances officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 4 p.m. Preferred memorials are to Montgomery Christian Church.
